What To Expect?
"Dr. Recher was very kind and patient. He took all the time necessary to learn about my hearing loss history. I did not feel at all rushed or pressured. Being profoundly deaf in one ear, Dr. Recher was not pushy about possible hearing aid options for me. He understood that I am very comfortable with my hearing capabilities and gave me numerous helpful tips to protect my hearing. He is very knowledgeable. It was an extremely pleasant experience overall. He made sure all of my questions were answered, clearly and thoroughly."
You have direct access to your audiologist at all times. The moment you walk in the door, he'll be the one to greet you, and he will be happy to lend an ear any time you have concerns about your hearing health.
We look at your hearing health in the context of your overall health. Everything about our health is interconnected. We don't just think about how hearing aid technology can help you - we also support your general health through expert care.
We focus on your comfort and your needs. If you have questions or aren't sure about something, just ask. We consider ourselves your partner on the path to better hearing.
We give you plenty of options to choose from. You won't ever be pushed into one particular hearing aid. If we try something and it isn't right for you, we're happy to find another solution that might be the perfect fit.
We are not a sales office. We're here to help you hear. We view hearing aids as just one part of the solution, and we'll only recommend them if we genuinely think they're the best option for you.
We offer a free ear cleaning to all patients. It's called an "ear flush" and it's gentle, comfortable, and will help you hear better whether you wear hearing aids or not.
We come highly recommended. Patients send their friends and family members to us because they know we'll do right by them. Just look at our reviews to see what our current patients have to say about us.
Your First Appointment
We take extra care to make sure you feel at ease as soon as you arrive. You'll fill out some paperwork to make sure we have all the information we need about your health history and your hearing.
Our audiologist will lead you back into his office and go over your case history. He'll answer your questions and make sure you're comfortable before moving on.
We give every patient a full diagnostic audiological exam so we can understand the scope and cause of your hearing loss. This includes a video otoscope, which lets us display the inside of your ear on a screen so you can look at it with us. If you're at our Wantagh location, we will give you a 3D ear scan so we can take a look at what's going on inside your ear.
Once we've completed the testing, we review the results and explain them thoroughly to you. We'll also go over your treatment options, which may include hearing aids. If you have tinnitus, we offer counseling to help find solutions to improve your experience. We take a comprehensive, holistic approach to addressing hearing loss in general and especially tinnitus in particular.
If we feel that hearing aids would be a good solution for you, we'll give you a chance to try on a pair. When you're ready to make a decision, we will put in the order and schedule an appointment for your hearing aid fitting.
